I started my life with a suitcase

My mom was just a kid, and we both had to grow up

Could’ve been left without love, but I was chosen instead

By a mom and a dad who would tuck me into bed

And all my friends could see

Is that it must be hard for me

You can call it rose colored glasses, or naive but the fact is

Everything could be tragic to me

This shit is a blessing to me

I don’t hate the world, and I don’t think it hates me

And that’s just how I see it

I had a choice when I was real young

While other kids were climbing trees my friends life got taken by one

Could’ve been scared of the world, whether I like it or not

Thinking it shoulda been me, when a scar is all that I got

Or maybe not

And all my friends could see
