Went to Joe’s to have a drink

Find a little place to think about colored green

When I saw a girl I’d never seen

She looked like a cover of a magazine

Like Vogue or Women’s Health

And I could tell that she was educated

Reading a book about one hundred pages or more, showing off

So I opened up with a cool icebreaker

Let’s go to the back of my Studebaker, but no

She blew me off

Didn’t seem to be impressed

It couldn’t be the way I’m dressed, tight jeans, no shoes

She had eyes like big old diamonds

She had eyes that were made for climbing up and up and up

Come on baby I ain’t whistlin' dixie

If I left I think you’d know you’d miss me, don’t

Act like you wouldn’t

Now, I ain’t saying that you won’t regret it

But after a couple of drinks I think you might forget or

Maybe you couldn’t

I may not be an artist of a work of art

But I know you need some loving and my car is parked

Back at home with the gas light on

And the damn thing just won’t start
