Each night when I sleep I dream of a love in my town

I don’t count sheep just the faces of her in my town

I miss her all the time and she’s always on my mind and then some

A love that is mine gonna stay there this time in my town

Well I write her letters and I always send her X’s

And I’m a going back cause there ain’t a darn cow in Texas

No need to wait cause I’ve been every place and then some

Then I put my suitcase down

Well I’ve met a lot of girls but never like that girl in my town

They remind me of her then they make me lonesome for my town

I knew it all the time though I put it from my mind but I learn some
