Winter came and went

It’s the Spring of your discontent

And maybe you are sorry that you stayed

You have your mother’s mouth and lips

Your own mind and a tongue that trips

On words you try and use to explain

Why go out like tears in rain?

Water curling down a drain

Courage, love, and dry your wings

Fly like a butterfly in Spring

Don’t ask why, just do something and fly

Why not?

You’re a butterfly

You want a new tattoo, you want another you

Look in the mirror, see a stranger’s eyes

She doesn’t know just where she’ll go

Some other girl she ran the show

Maybe soon, a face you’ll recognize

This is the only life you’ll know

Years go fast and the days so slow

Drag yourself through one more door

Somewhere you’ve been, never seen before

Winter came and went, all the trees still standing bent

Remembering the plans you made in Autumn

Hope is a danger, a fickle friend
