The trust I placed, upon the promises you made

Was not some simple debt that had to be repaid

The faith I found, to life the stones that dragged you down

Is not a strenght that I can summon up today

Well there’s no consolation

In saving you will when I know you don’t mean it

See the depth of your misfortune

Is measured in secrets that you’ll never share

And you play with my emotions

Like there is some deitic right you’ve been given

So I ask myself the question

Do you really want this?

Do you really need this?

Do you really care?

From the phantoms that you feared

You shed imaginary tears

Within imaginary tales of where you’d been

And the conscience that you light

Inside your neon backlit nights

Is not benevolent and won’t forget your lies

And I feel my heart is breaking

Whenever you speak ‘cos I know you don’t mean it

Then you play with my emotions

Like they are some demon that you need to kill

And it seems I hardly know you

I know that my patience is fast disappearing

Well I feel no obligation

To pick up the pieces and show you what’s real

And there’s no consolation
