Rising Din - Faun Fables

My doom awaits me at the bottom of the stairs…

My doom waits patiently down there…

In a crumpled heap, I lie, I never thought I’d die.

With a fresh batch of fast-drying fix-all in my hands.

My end is holding out her all-embracing arms.

My end goes anywhere with her all-consuming charms.

On a bridge over the bay, well, probably not today.

But a leaf darts under my wheels, and I know it’s a leaf but I flinch anyway

I’M NOT…

nervous, but I hear my name in the falling dust and

the rising din and sound that never tasted breath or shame.

My life sits down and cries with ever-lasting love.

My life hides in your arms, and never will look up to meet my gaze

with the exception of when I lost in love, then I fall down the stairs

drive into your bay laughing all the way, I’M NOT…

nervous, 'cuz I hear your name in the falling dust and the rising din of sound
