There’s this thorn in my side

That I’ve been trying hard to hide

It eats at me, and my defeat

Is coming quickly if I can’t see

The error of my ways

I’m slowly digging my own grave

I long to find the voice inside

Pride followed by lies

Drag the lake, you’ll find me here

Taken down by years and years

Of searching for my place

A new day, an old face

Watching every step I take

Voices keeping me awake

And all this pressure bearing down on me

Comes from the weight of the angst in all these memories

You’ve taken something I can’t let you keep

So I will fight with every ounce of might inside of me

To bring us back to where it all began
