But how you gonna get him 'neath the tree

Just suppose that he got stuck up in our chimney

Then everyone would blame it all on me

Lots of kids would rather have a pony

I don’t believe he’d be a lot of trouble

If you feed him lots of peanuts all the time

Lots of kids are crazy 'bout the monkeys

They like to watch 'em play out at the zoo

Santa, won’t you see what you can do

I promise I’ll be good all through the year

I’ll wash my face and brush my teeth and study hard in school

If on Christmas day my elephant is here
