The cracks in the foundation started to show

The skin that surrounds me is no longer a humble abode

The candle flickers

A dying light

My interpretation

Of a hole in the heart

I shared my feelings

With a part of me

I don’t want you to see but please wait for me

But everyone I looked past was subsequently found in the end

I flourish when I’m in

A clear conscious state of mind

That lets me breathe inwards and outwards

Instead of telling myself I’m worthless

Because now I’m at the point where I can find a face

In the crowd that’s not encumbering

And any damage that I dealt

Was because I was suffering

And I took the time to pull myself from the wreckage

That held me I am becoming

A better man and I know that the face I can’t hide

Will be the last thing I see

I pushed the thoughts out from my head

In the hope of a sudden change

But all I was met with was

You made this worse, so much worse

I poisoned my own fucking life and you can watch me while I sleep

I shut the voices out and my body calms down

I found solace and a light and I hope you are proud
