You never cared

You never tried

To see the one you took for granted

The one you left alone

To move on to the other things

Not a day not an hour could be spared

There’s always tomorrow

Or maybe next time maybe next year would be better

I’m sure he knows how much you care

It’s just so far and you’re so tired

If there were only more hours in the day…

Now you stand

As the guilt holds on

It’s not as easy now

To let go of what you ignored

And the time you should have given

But death put an end

To the waiting that you never knew

The pain, the fear that’s over now

Still you know

The blame falls on you

It wasn’t worth it to try any harder

And now you try to walk away

There was nothing you could do

You gave everything you had

But underneath the veil you hold

Lies the truth you cannot face

You failed the one who loved you

All the next times all the next years never happened

I’m sure he knows how much you care

It’s just so hard and I’m so tired

If there were only more hours in the day…

And as we look into the past

There’s no mention of the truth

The guilty scars all covered up

Lying safely out of sight allowing us to lie again

And move on to the other things

Time will let these things slip by

Through the doors into the void and life continues on

But I have never felt so empty so rotten I’ve become
