An unexpected call rings.

Words begin to fall from jaws.

Shadows begin to appear

as the fear steadily starts.

Turns out a loved one has passed away.

Slow and delicately the last leaf has made it’s way to the ground.

They were just here and now they’re gone

like a breeze of our favorite season.

The hardest parts are knowing you can’t let go

and that I can’t do anything about it.

These hands make us bitter.

I won’t let this break me, and please don’t let it break you

'Cause I know if it were you that were gone

you wouldn’t want me spending

the rest of my days mourning.

We’ll both move on,
