The night before I turned 16

I knew better than to dream

Of waking up to shiny chrome and steel

'Cause Dad had made it clear that we

When morning came I was shocked

Looked out in the drive and saw

Took one last glance at my old room

Tears filled mama’s eyes the day I left

Dad didn’t have a dime to spare

But he showed me how much he cared
