yesterday I woke up in a dream

filled with sorrow and painful memories

but I can’t remember what it was I’d seen

that made me grab my pen and clue you in

for me there’s no relief

that’s why I’m living day to day in a sea of gray

drowning down the pain in a quart of grain

so that’s why I have to say I’m sorry in this note I’ve wrote to you

everybody wants to live a life

full of purpose fulfilling what’s required

but I doubt there’s any hope I can maintain

the course I’m on is doomed

yet one choice looms

while the world just fades away

smooth the wrinkles on your forehead close your eyes
