We could be a generation standing for change

But we blind ourselves with hate

Evolution repeating itself, mankind defeating itself

Life as we know it is crumbling inside itself

Praying for our sins, but never making a change

We’ve corrupted ourselves in a generation of apathy

Too blind to see anything real, fighting behind computer screens

Forgetting what it is to feel, giving up what isn’t real

To be angry, to fight back

Minds closed to what we lack

Wake up, open your eyes, we’re all dying inside

I squeeze my fists so tight, they start to bleed

I beat the walls inside of me screaming, who will save me?

We justify our ignorance by saying things are getting better

Over a century of racism, homophobia, & misogyny

Praying for our sins, but never making a change

We’ve corrupted ourselves in a generation of apathy

Too blind to see anything real, fighting behind computer screens

Forgetting what it is to feel, giving up what isn’t real

To be angry, to fight back

Minds closed to what we lack

Wake up, open your eyes, we’re all dying inside

We live our lives on our knees, praying to a God that doesn’t love us

Imprisoned by jobs that make us hate ourselves and push us to our slow deaths

We live our lives with blinders over our eyes pretending things are getting

better

But the only thing we’re getting better at is pretending everything is fine

Force fed false ideals that every pharmaceutical drug will have the answer

But the only answer is, to die or grow up

The internal off balance are exported outwards and it affects the world around

us

The world is in turmoil because every one of us are in turmoil inside
