Well the grass always looked green,

On the other side to him

And his conscience wasn’t clean

When he thought of where he’d been

He’s betrayed his only friend

And it ate him up inside

Was it really worth the pain

For the pleasure of that night?

He’s thrown it all away

Well he didn’t have to think too much,

He took the invitiation

And he promised he’d stay in touch

But he had no intention

And he never considered the guilt he’d feel

When the sun entered the sky

But as hindsight came around

It detached him from his pride

And he thought that he could cope alone without her

But there’s just something about her
