On the road to my own self destruction

Narcissism goading me today

Never finding perfection

Reflecting someone I’d rather be

A work on art on-going

My canvas about to peel

I’ll face those consequences

They always said I’m so extreme

Is the truth I’m hiding

The veneer under my sheen

Beautiful suicide

Take a look inside yourself

For the beauty you couldn’t find

It took hold, became my life’s obsession

This leopard deserves his right to change

With surgical correction

Chrysalis, my butterfly escaped

Life’s killing jar withholding

The real me in such a state

Breaking down my defences

While sleeping beauty starts to wake

Why have I been hiding in a body that felt so fake?

Can you see my star?

Just remember me

I will always shine

Now I found composure

Those good memories remain

I would bring you some closure

And visit you again someday

Free spirit looking skywards

Single feather floating down

Pick it up and please remember

It represents the peace I’ve found
