Midnight - Messenger

Thieves swarm in crimson tainted rows

treading the blood of the unspoiled

An ancient providential pose

Empires forgotten so long ago

Worms crawl in nameless graves of stone

as the dead souls swim in amber moulds

Nameless black tombstones remind us we’re close

We’re restlessly seeking a rhyme or a reason

sailing through the midnight dark

We sing our destruction in streets of misfortune

praying that we gain new life

A song for the vultures with death in their sight

A song for the outcasts who’ve strayed from the light

A song for the heroes that silently march

A song for the villains who prey in the dark

The orchid grows where no-one knows

The land is in smoke

So walk with me, we’ll try and seek a God that knows

An empty throne to call our home, a safe abode
