i made friends with the taste of my failure

but she left me, told all my secrets

now i’m left with these questions that rob me

of substance, of something, my value, my reason

i take steps to invest in my hiding

so don’t stop, try to act like you notice

the guilt that used to cover my position

the mindless repetition of the sinning from a distance

kinda makes me doubt i ever had it to begin with

his mind and will is easy for my speech to keep him cleaved

into the plans that i have set for him: gears are set in motion
