Everything feels so pointless

Like we’re building castles in the sand

I think we all lie to ourselves

Have we forgotten when the tide rolls in

And it’s killing me inside

I’m haunted by the ghost inside my head

They tell me to believe it’s all worth something

'Cause life feels meaningless

Don’t act like it doesn’t matter

Acting like I’m numb, it’s just not enough

I’m kept awake by the ghost inside my head

If I were you, I’d forget me and save yourself

We’re building castles

It all just goes in circles

Like we’re drawing pictures in the dust

And even though it feels permanent

We walked away when the wind picks up

It’s eating me alive

I’m taunted by the vultures overhead

Is it really over when it ends?

It just feels so meaningless

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe it’s not for nothing

Maybe I looked too hard

Maybe I should have a dream and ride it to the end

Maybe then I’ll find what I’m looking for

Maybe then I’ll understand
