I was looking out my window about ten seconds ago wondering how to start

My eyes are focused on nothing at all and nothing in my heart

I might have drooled if a white bird hadn’t caught my gaze

That’s what it’s like when you’re in an empty phase

I saw a girl closing a bakery alone

She had a broom and an apron on

And her hair up and all the chairs were up

She looked at me through the cafe window

And I looked at her through the tram window

And somehow somewhere in between, I fell in love with a broken dream

Whispers of beauty, I barely heard and barely seen

I saw a cloud of every hue expanding like the delicate breath of God across the

water

That’s what delicate God breaths do

I think it was oil cause it was in a puddle

Cause omniscient beings wouldn’t choose to live in the gutter

And omnifident ones won’t just get up and walk away

And if it was me I’d get up and walk right into your cafe and I’d scream

Somewhere in between, I fell in love with a broken dream
