Night falls and I’m feeling lost and very much alone

I can’t stop the shaking, so cold, weary and battle worn

One step away from tears on the verge of breaking down

Then you enter my mind and whisper…

Please return to me upon your shield or bended knee

Believe these horrors I have seen can be but a reverie

A battle cry they’ll be… not an elegy

Dawn breaks and I awake once again to heed the call

If I should fall today would I be remembered at all?
