I was raised in a bad city

With some freaks hanging around with me

Talking about war the birds and bees

Who would fly in the windy breeze

Slowly dying and the lands are emptied

Of people real wise like Jesus

Troubles in my head they start to shift me

To a desert this is what I believe

Let me see the world from a mountain top

For I know love is a gift from God

Are you happy with the battle you fought

Or did you break down before you got what you sought

Is this world everything that I need

Do I long to escape be free

Back to home for eternity

Its only true seekers who are made to lead

So don’t order me across the border

People burn down the empire

Flames rise up and then get even higher

Do we really know what it is we desire

I don’t need this worldly world

Jesus when you call on the name

Place me high above the decaying plains
