The Pit - The Convalescence

The dark waters are glistening red

The world will never speak your name again

Choking on your own words

The slowest of deaths is what you have earned

Cutting the tongue from a liar’s mouth

Making incisions and tearing the organs out

Leave in the eyes, true terror I seek

Sadistic pleasures from making you bleed

Smash in the skull, darkness creeps in

Unable to scream as the earth takes you in

Surrounded by roots and branches and vines

Your body consumed, insects burst from inside

A parasite in life becomes a host in death

An ecosystem within a corpse

Constructing new framework within gushing sores

New growth of beauty rises from decay

A new life emerges from where it was taken away

I’m repeating the cycle

Adding another body

To this mass grave

May the light never reach this place

The blood of a hundred souls

Stains this wretched pit

Nightmares are real, they beckon to me

The pathway to hell is forever lit

Ingesting the rotting flesh

As I feast

Gorging myself on the deceased

Deep in the torso, my hands will explore

Bathing myself in the festering gore

The moon casting eerie light on the forest floor

Severed limbs exploding with maggots

Rolling around in the masses of the visible gore

Becoming one with the rot
