Leaves - Two Down

Deserted and isolated to conceal the truth which can set us free,

Silenced by the silence of surroundings — drowning in a sea of leaves.

Diagnosed with being intoxicated with my mind full of sin would you agree?

That the only way to keep my quiet is to lock me up and throw away the key.

But a prisoner still has a voice so another plan is what they had for me,

A slow death is not satisfying enough so instead they’ve set me free.

Holding onto the pain of knowing that a wolf closes in on humanity,

With the existence of life in the balance, I close my eyes, turn look and see.

I can’t believe that the darkness I’ve seen

Hasn’t torn this whole world clean apart at the seams.

…too down to see that the roots are diseased

and the trees are producing black smoke from their leaves?

What a sight to behold, left out in the cold, all because of the truth you know.

Punished for what you was told, the mind wonders, but its attention is hard to

hold.

Can I have yours for a minute?

And I can begin to expose…

All the lies that were given from years of living in social prisons,

And fed incorrect information — I know we’re starved of true knowledge,

And the cycle of drip feeding the masses — it really needs to be abolished.

I can’t say it enough… wisen up and look around you:

Businesses winding up, the time has come but will soon be gone,

So don’t be left of thoughts of what should have been done.

Correct mistakes and mend broken friendships, ‘cos soon you’ll see that here is

lost,

And if time was frozen but our minds were not…

Would we choose to reflect on all we’ve got?

I think not.

Our lives we don’t value — just a cheap commodity,

So we pin our hopes in the belief that one day we’ll win life’s lottery.
