Hoplessness is in the ally,

Alone dragging his feet.

He wasn’t born that way,

But life has just taught him defeat.

So he waits to teach you distrust,

From his cold home in the streets.

Hopelessness is on the TV,

Infecting see, the shining sea.

And in the worried eyes of our parents,

Try as we might not to believe.

And we’ve tried pills and prescriptions,

But drugs won’t cure this disease.

This is the New Year,

Nobody knows,

Where we are going,

What’s down the road…

The city is humming,

The country is cold.

— But you give me something;

Something like hope.

We grew up without parents,

To teach us wrong from right.

So we turned towards many heroes,

But still we couldn’t sleep at night.

So we searched and read and listened,

To the songs old prophets sang.

— Lets all get together friends,

And dance the rain away.

Its time to get together friends,

And dance away the rain.

This is the New Year,

Where we are going

What’s down the road…
