In winter’s passing by old Steven’s bay

She roams with a blue tear beneath her ragged veil

Down every lane she drifts, the snow at her feet

Turning each corner, never to be seen

Those who pass by her will hear a faint song

See softness in her eyes and sharpness on her tongue

But what does she sing of behind that veneer?

And what does she wish for behind those blue tears?

Springtime awaits her and her song

Watch for her shadows, near you they could fall

Once I was caught by the sweet melody

She wished for a love in the winter buried deep

She said, «Don't kill us, no!

Don’t let it leave!

Or you will end up, child, alone on these streets!»
