The Drifters
The Drifters 1953년 5월, 프로듀서 Ahmet Ertegun 과 Jerry Wexler 의 주도로 결성된 미국의 보컬 그룹입니다. 초기에는 The Dominoes 출신의 Clyde McPhatter 의 고음 테너 목소리를 부각시키기 위해 만들어졌으며, 리듬 앤 블루스 장르에서 빠르게 명성을 얻었습니다. 1955년 말 McPhatter 탈퇴한 후에도 The Drifters 잦은 멤버 교체에도 불구하고 꾸준히 인기를 유지하며 1960년대 중반까지 가장 인기 있는 R&B 그룹 중 하나로 자리매김했습니다. 그들의 대표곡으로는 "Under the Boardwalk"와 "Save the Last Dance for Me" 등이 있으며, 이 곡들은 R&B 장르에 지대한 영향을 미쳤습니다.
